the fake-meaty, fake-cheesy-daiya goodness that is a frozen tofurkey pizza is now a reality in charlotte. confirmed that earth fare locations across the queen city have full stock in the freezers of these gems. all reviews i have read have been off the charts, and we all know daiya and tofurkey sausages are already good on their own. pair with pizza sauce, roasted veggies, and a thin crust and, well, we want one NOW!!!!

very sad news from our neighbors in Greensboro, NC of the passing of the owner of the wonderful Zaytoon’s Mediterranean restaurant in uptown Greensboro. Masoud always opened his doors to hungry vegans in the triad and beyond, with obvious love for his customers and community which was returned from them in abounds.
Our thoughts are with his family, and the veggie and vegan community of Greensboro as they remember, honor, and respect his life. rest in peace masoud.
An online guestbook has been setup for the community and public to pay respects at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/masoudawartani/guestbook/1.

Daiya shreds in Mozzerella and Cheddar
Daiya brand Vegan cheese is now available at Charlotte Area Earth Fare locations. Mozzerella and Cheddar styles are located in the cold vegan foods section (usually near the deli/bakery) and Earth Fare assures us they will always have it in stock.
Thanks to Earth Fare for finally bringing the melty, stretchy goodness of Daiya to Charlotte!

Reported by a post on their Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/#!/realfoodcharlotte?ref=nf) this morning, Real Foods Charlotte’s last day of operation will be TODAY March 26. They stated the decision to close was by their owner, and Randy left his email address (tricky_gnosis@yahoo.com) for fans to contact him with concerns or whatever.
A sad day for vegans across Charlotte. Hopefully they will be back in some form or another really soon.
